Mission Command Training & Simulation Support

Tapestry Solutions, a division of Boeing Global Services, provides vital Mission Command Training and Simulation support for the 7th Army Training Command (7th ATC) – the U.S. Army’s largest overseas training command that provides realistic, tailor-made training solutions to U.S., NATO and partner nations throughout Europe, Africa and beyond. Training is conducted in Live, Virtual, Constructive & Gaming (LVC-G) environments to help prepare commanders and their staff for full-spectrum military operations.

Tapestry supports 7th ATC training exercises at JMSC in Grafenwöhr, Germany, its satellites in Kaiserslautern and Italy, and the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) in Hohenfels. JMSC/JMRC come under the command of the U.S. Army Europe. At these centers, Tapestry designs, plans and conducts exercises ranging from Army unit-level activities to large-scale events involving multinational training units. Tapestry supports numerous large-scale, multinational exercises each year for the 7th ATC, including Dynamic Front, Saber Strike, Allied Spirit, Rapid Trident, Saber Guardian, Saber Junction, and Swift Response.

From May 2017 to June 2018, the Tapestry team has helped train approximately 50,000 military personnel across 22 nations. They’ve supported approximately 10 rotations at JMRC, 2 exercises at JMSC and over 150 gaming events across all four sites in Germany, Italy, Poland and the Ukraine. With an emphasis on interoperability, the large-scale joint and multinational exercises teach participating nations how to communicate and operate together effectively, despite differences in capabilities, terminology and traditions.

Work for the 7th ATC is currently being performed under the MCTS contract, awarded in 2017, which is a follow-on to the JMSC Battle Simulation Training (BST) contract that was awarded to Tapestry in 2011. As the prime contractor for MCTS, Tapestry leads a team that includes Capstone, Metro Productions and VATC (Visual Awareness Technology & Consulting, Inc.). The award was a natural extension of Tapestry’s deep domain experience in information management, data fusion and analysis. The simulations enable warfighters to plan and rehearse large-scale, joint and multinational training events as well as logistics operations and small-unit tactical exercises. As a :"one-stop shop” for exercise development, support and execution, Tapestry also provides individual, leader and collective mission command training at major combat training centers in the United States and at home stations.
