J2 Aircraft Dynamics is a UK Small/Medium sized Enterprise (SME) who, since its commercial launch in January 2010, is successfully growing in the field of fixed and rotary wing modelling and the application and exploitation of its own proprietary software tool set, the j2 Universal Tool-Kit to find and deliver value for its end user clients. In the world of aircraft design, evaluation and modelling, j2, with the j2 Universal Tool-Kit, has remained focused on accelerating the adoption of new technology and ideas by unlocking innovation in aircraft design, analysis, and simulation techniques. The unique application of the integrated flight physics engine within the j2 Universal Tool-Kit used in aircraft design has also opened further high value application areas in flight test and flight test data analysis including flight matching, flight test planning and aviation risk/accident evaluation. The j2 Universal Tool-Kit continues to win more commercial support. Its most recent developments from 2016 have enabled the capability to support flight test and help perform flight data matching and model tuning activities with significantly reduced (40% demonstrated) effort. This has been adopted since 2016 by leading aircraft simulator manufacturers (e.g. L3T) for flight test data matching right up to Level-D model building and acceptance. This same functionality provided a solid technical background to evolve the technology into the rotary wing test flight analysis, modelling and simulation work with the first project being the development of a complete Level 6 flight model of a UH-72A (modified EC145) for the US Army (8 mobile simulators). J2 differentiates itself from its competitors because there is no longer any need to write code. This is already done for you and the agility of the product means that data from any source can be fully integrated into the Universal Tool-Kit and used within the data driven analytical environment. The value return elements are large with end users reporting step change in efficiency of 30% or more n both cost and resource requirements. The recent award of a 4 year ITAR license, working with L3T, on large US Defence simulation projects s testament to the significant advantage j2 has over its competitors both technically and commercially.
